Vestiaire Collective appoints Head of Global Communications

French resale platform Vestiaire Collective appoints Lauren Picciano as Head of Global Communications.

In her new role, Picciano will be responsible for a team that will strategically align brand communications and promote Vestiaire Collective’s awareness through, among other things, corporate communications, consumer PR and relationships with influencers and celebrities, the company announced on Monday. She will be based in New York and will report directly to Chief Marketing Officer Marie-Christin Oebel.

The designated head of communications comes from the US fashion retailer Saks Saks, where she led the PR, celebrity and influence departments and was responsible for establishing a 360-degree communications initiative and building an ambassador program. Overall, Picciano has over 15 years of experience in the industry, having worked in various PR and communications roles for companies such as underwear label La Perla, luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman and media company Hearst.

“We are delighted that Lauren Picciano is joining Vestiaire Collective and bringing her extensive knowledge and experience in the luxury fashion market to our leadership team,” said Marie-Christin Oebel, Global Chief Marketing Officer. “Picciano’s appointment is critical to expanding Vestiaire Collective’s brand recognition and influence in North America, but also globally.”

Picciano’s appointment comes a few months after the appointment of Global Chief Marketing Office Oebel and Smina Virk, who has led the North American market as CEO since February.
