Known as a motor sportsman, Toni Vilander and his friends bought Vesa-Matti Loir’s beloved cottage. Now he tells IS about the current state of the cottage

Artist Vesa-Matti Loiri died about three years ago in August. Loiri died on August 10, 2022, exhausted by a long -term illness. He was 77 when he died.

The soul landscape of the great artist was located in Inari, Lapland. He once publicly told about his wish that his ashes would be sprinkled in Lake Inari.

Inari also had a dear cottage for Loir, where he spent long periods of time and retreated to the enchantment of nature in Lapland. As Loir moved from time to eternity, the heir put the holiday home for sale.

One of the new owners is Toni Vilander, known as a formula expert. Vilander shares the ownership of a 66-square-meter log cabin with his friends.

Ilta-Sanomat reached Vilander to comment on the current state of the cottage.

– We have gently renovated it, Vilander told the magazine.

According to Vilander, the cottage’s accommodation has improved the renovation. The cottage has been made, among other things, “Lapland-inspired bunk beds”.

– Now it has been fixed so that even in winter there will be water in the cottage. That is, these kind of housing comfort has been done, he told IS.

Loiri is certainly an important character for every person in Finland in the 1980s. Vilander does not make an exception in that respect.

Vilander previously told Iltalehti that he had met Loir once, probably Veskudocumentary.

– I have that strong memory. Vesku spoke there at first, and then we were together. Of course there was a big charisma. I couldn’t help but listen to those stuff.

– Then all about childhood. That’s a big part, Vilander referred to Uuno Turhapuro at the time.
