VZV started the duel against the Beekse Fusie Club as favorite in their own sport Sporthal ‘t Zijveld. After all, VZV had already won twice against the Limburgers in the regular competition. Also in this duel the difference in strength and quality was often visible.

Early in the game, coach Rolf Schulte’s team, who will say goodbye to the Eredivisionist after this season, was the first to take a lead and then did not relinquish it. Because VZV was not accurate in phases themselves, the difference halfway remained only three points: 15-12.

Pretty soon after the break, VZV stepped on the accelerator and handball was faster and more goals were scored. The introduction of Jane Kramer also benefited the home team’s game. Kramer had been sick almost all week and only played the last fifteen minutes. In this last quarter of the game, VZV finally distanced itself from BFC and the difference eventually increased to seven points: 28-21. Anne Buter and Meike Kruijer were the top scorers on the side of VZV with five hits each.

In the position of the relegation pool, VZV, which received two points from the regular season, already has four points. BFC is at the bottom with zero points. Only the number last in the group is relegated.
