The excitement in Formula 1 continued with the 4th race of the season. Max Verstappen won at Imola, hosted by Italy. Another Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez, was second, while Lando Norris was the last person to take the podium.

The race, which was held on the 4.9 kilometer track with the same name as the Italian city of Imola, was held over 63 laps.


Championship leader Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc lost second place to Red Bull’s Sergio Perez in the start given in the rain. Another Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, who started the race from fourth place, was out of the race on the first lap as a result of his contact with Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren).


Leclerc, whose front wing was damaged as he spun towards the last lap of the race, had to make a “pit-stop”. Returning to the track in 9th place, the driver from Monaco was able to finish the race in 6th place.


Dutch pilot Verstappen, who started the race from the first place, finished the fight in the first place with a time of 1:32:07.986, reaching the second place this season and the 21st place of his career. Teammate Perez was second, 16,527 seconds behind the leader, and McLaren’s Lando Norris was third, 34,834 seconds behind the leader.


After this race, Leclerc made 86 points in the championship, while Verstappen moved up to the second place in the drivers’ classification with 59 points.


Lewis Hamilton, the British driver of Mercedes, who has 7 championships in his career, started the race from the 14th place and finished in the 13th place.


The fifth leg of the season, the US Grand Prix, will be held on Sunday, May 8.
