Verstappen, “Libero” weekend at Nurburgring: expected in 50,000 for its debut in the NLS

Formula 1 weekend? Max Verstappen has decided to exploit him to rest and have fun in his own way: running on the track. Today, in fact, the Dutch champion of Formula 1 completed the first steps necessary to take to the track at the Nurburgring in the seventh appointment of the NLS championship (Nurburgring Endurance Series). Verstappen has successfully passed the practice of practical driving on the track, completing the laps of the track necessary to pass the test alongside an instructor: an obligatory practice also for a Formula 1 World Champion to get in tune with the critical points of the track and to understand the limits of the car. Once the practical test Verstappen has also completed the theoretical one that guarantees the authorization to climb by car on the German track in an official GT4 class competition.

After these fundamental phases tomorrow the Dutchman is expected on the track as a great protagonist of the day: in fact he will compete for the Lionspeed GP team, behind the wheel of a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS and will take part in two races of four hours each. However, the goal of the weekend for Verstappen would be hypothetically bigger: Sunday Max could make a sensational leap in the category, if it were to be able to acquire the license in record time, and take the wheel of a GT3, the Ferrari 296 GT3. If it does not succeed Max could continue the weekend always behind the wheel of the GT4, waiting to obtain the license for future races, aiming at the 24 hours of the Nurburgring of 2026. A debut, that of Max, who independently of the category enthusiastically enthusiasts: to attend the Pride of the Dutchman in fact – as reported by De Telegraaf – over 50,000 fans are expected. For the occasion, the organization of the track has opened additional stands, in order to guarantee the many fans the best possible visibility.
