SSV Jahn Regensburg collects the next defeat on Friday evening. The Upper Palatinate were committed to Rot -Weiss Essen – but conceded two goals late.

The roller coaster ride of SSV Jahn Regensburg continues: On the 5th matchday of the 3rd league, SSV Jahn Regensburg lost 1: 3 (0: 1) against Rot-Weiss Essen. The SSV had found much better into the game than in the current games of the current season.

Tom Moustier (35th), Kaito Müzua (75th) and Kelsey Owusu (90.+7) provided the Essen hit, Noel Eichinger from SSV in the meantime (1: 1.70.).

The last victory in the league for the Jahn is now three weeks ago when the team of coach Michael Wimmer won 3-0 against Schweinfurt. A defeat followed 0: 1 against Viktoria Köln before the club succeeded in the fourth round after a highly dramatic duel in the Bavarian Cup against Ansbach.

Jahn captain cool weather was missing

Although Jahn captain Christian Kühlwetter (knee injury, but also red-locked) was missing, the SSV found the game better in the home stadium. Above all, as far as the duels were concerned, the Upper Palatinate seemed to be a quick on Friday evening. However, the assignment should only be worthwhile later in the game.

Only the Jahn received a goal in the 35th minute. The 0: 1 followed after a clever combination of the Esseners. Tom Moustier combined the Jahn goal with a double pass and shot the ball under the crossbar. In the 52nd threatened the 0: 2 – Gebhardt had to react with a brilliant parade to keep a massive shot from Essen offensive player Ahmet Arslan.

SSV Jahn Regensburg collects Last-minute goal

It got out in the Jahn Stadium, however, when Eichinger and his third goal of the season ensured the equalization: Eichinger easily nodded (1: 1). But RWE did not leave that: Mizua pushed the ball into the goal in the 75th and 2-1. Kelsey Owusu increased to 3: 1 in the last minute and finally sealed the defeat of the hosts.

“At the end of the day, they were nuances that decide,” said Jahn coach Michael Wimmer after the game. But he sees bright spots: “I think that you saw that we were in the game from the start (…) that we were also braver,” said Wimmer.
