Just talk about golf as an elite sport. This is (also) the mission of “Time is still ours”, the first Italian film on this discipline (in the United States it is very popular, from “Tin Cup” to “The legend of Bagger Vance”) mentioned on the sidelines of the exhibition of the cinema of Venice the teaser was screened. The idea comes from the director and screenwriter Maurizio Matteo Merli, obviously a golfer by passion, who wanted Ascanio Pacelli as the protagonists of what is also a great story of friendship, at his cinema debut, and the actor Mirko Frezza, with the participation by Antonello Fassari. Produced by Father & Son, with the patronage of Federgolf, Pga and Coni, the film will arrive in cinemas close to the Ryder Cup, scheduled for the last weekend of September 2023 in Rome.

For everyone

“Golf is a metaphor for life, where as you go through the 18 holes you know that each shot will affect the next,” says the director. And Pacelli: “I have dedicated a lot to this sport and I don’t deny that I would have preferred to have a press conference for my golfing successes. But the failures led me to make other choices, like Big Brother where I later met my wife. here today, as the protagonist of a film about golf, it is a bit of a circle that closes and I hope this work helps to make people understand how much this sport is accessible to everyone. Here it has the power to unite friendship and different social contexts, to unite a father and a daughter, to save people as sport can do “.

New push

Mirko Frezza, who has never had any experience on the green until now, jokes about it: “If they managed to combine a person like me with golf, it means that it is truly accessible to everyone, it is a sport that helps you”. Concept taken up in full by Fassari, another proven golfer: “You have to try! Once it was exclusive, now go to the driving range and try. Golf is phenomenal”.
