Vegan Fashion Week and Ukrainian Fashion Week join forces

Two fashion weeks, Vegan Fashion Week (VFW) and Ukrainian Fashion Week (UFW), have joined forces to unite their global audiences and amplify their message, which this year is all about the importance of compassion as a vital pillar of the global peace turns. In addition, interpersonal relationships are to be strengthened and the connections between people, biodiversity and the urgent need to stop the negative effects on the planet are to be shown.

A joint catwalk is set to showcase the best of Ukrainian fashion and vegan fashion, featuring the creations of Ukrainian designers Chereshnivska, Dzhus, Gorohova, Ochis, Oversized, RCR Khomenko, Roussin and Sheezen. There will also be a showroom of designers who create sustainable fashion and beauty products. The event will take place at the newly renovated California Market Center in downtown Los Angeles.

“For 25 years we have worked hard to become the unifying force of the fashion industry and its most influential player. In 1997, designers received a call from Ukrainian Fashion Week to unite in the industry, and today UFW is evolving in key areas such as sustainability, digitization, inclusion and diversity,” comments Iryna Danylevska, co-founder and CEO of Ukrainian Fashion Week, in a message.

“Since Russia’s full invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, we have all been living in a state of incredible stress and survival that is being felt by all in every corner of our country. However, Ukrainian designers found the strength during the war to create new collections to tell the whole world about Ukrainian resilience and courage and to show Ukrainian national identity through fashion,” adds Danylevska.

“As we continue to focus on our movement’s responsibility to promote and empower the future of vegan fashion, we are incredibly proud to welcome Ukrainian Fashion Week as this year’s guest and take the opportunity to share their extraordinary vision with our international introduce audience. I look forward to activating our partnership and shared commitment to fostering creativity in meaningful design,” says Emmanuelle Rienda, Founder of Vegan Fashion Week.

Vegan Fashion Week made its debut in 2019 and while not part of the four major fashion weeks, in recent years it has become the springboard for vegan fashion, stimulating discussions around ethical and sustainable lifestyles and attracting emerging and established designers: inside in this area promotes equally. She is also pioneering collaborations between plant-based textiles, brands and industry leaders to end the use of animal-derived materials in the fashion industry.
