Joel Vega Zambrano is leaving SC Paderborn and joining third division club Viktoria Köln with immediate effect. However, the SCP is keeping an eye on the development of the 21-year-old from Bielefeld. According to their own information, the second division team has secured a buyback option for offensive player Vega Zambrano.
Paderborn’s sports director Sebastian Lange explained: “We are pleased that Joel can take the next, logical step. He has developed well with us in the regional league and that is why we want to make that possible for him.” Left-footed Vega Zambrano only played 110 minutes for the SCP this season as a secondary substitute due to an injury; he has not yet gained any experience with the second division professionals.
Stephan Küsters, sporting director at Viktoria Köln, said: “We already tried to sign Joel in the summer. We are all the more pleased that the transfer has now worked. He has his strengths in the offensive and can be used flexibly there. He has proven his qualities over a long period of time in the regional league. We wish him and ourselves maximum success together.”
