The Prokkel-Walk four days at Vanboeijen in Assen has been awarded the Golden Prokkel 2025 in the Experience and Meeting category. It is a prize for initiatives where meetings take place between people with and without intellectual disabilities.
The organization received the Golden Prokkel this afternoon. The Viervierdaagse won prizes because of the festive, accessible and connecting power, according to the jury report. The jury also mentions that the event shows how accessible and inspiring it can be to walk together.
Vanboeijen supports people with intellectual disabilities in learning, living, working and leisure. It was the first time that its own Prokkel-Walking Four Days were held in Assen. That happened in June, in which residents, clients, volunteers and local residents set out together.
