A delivery van with very likely drug waste was found on Tuesday afternoon in the middle of a residential area in Breda. Tuesday evening around ten o’clock, several companies are still busy clearing up all the material. It is expected to last until late in the evening.
The van stood out on Tuesday afternoon because the bus without license plates was parked on Karel Doormanlaan. From the outside it was clear that the bus was heavily loaded. The police called the fire brigade and they opened the bus. According to a 112 correspondent, there was a chemical smell coming out.
The bus turned out to be a refrigerated one. Because the bus was so well insulated, the chemical smell was probably not noticed before.
The bus contained, among other things, a large liquid container of 1000 liters. The contents of that container were pumped into smaller barrels because it turned out not to be transportable otherwise. The origin of the bus and the waste is not yet clear. That is being investigated by the police.
