Van Peteghem (CD&V) wants to contribute to federal states with extra defense spending

Minister of Budget Vincent van Peteghem believes that the federal states should participate in the extra defense spending. At the same time, he fears that the new NATO rules ensure that the regions can only contribute to the extra 1.5 percent intended for infrastructure or cyber safety, and not to the pure defense expenditure.
