Van Nistelrooij tries to take the pressure off PSV in the run-up to the top match

It is either hooking up or dropping out for PSV in the top match against Feyenoord. But still trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij does not want to put too much pressure on this match. According to the coach, his selection is focused on the match and is not concerned with any consequences in the event of a defeat.

PSV is four points behind leader Feyenoord and must not lose on Sunday to drop out in the title fight. Little of that pressure is still noticeable in Eindhoven. “There is actually a lot of peace. Everyone likes that the selection for the remainder of the season is clear. Of course everyone is motivated towards Sunday.”

Van Nistelrooij continues his story. “We should not think too big and not dwell on a possible loss. Everyone has to play like it’s their last game, but don’t worry about the consequences.”

“Feyenoord is the top favorite for the title.”

But if you look realistic, you know that if PSV loses, it can almost forget the title. Feyenoord is currently the best this season and according to the trainer, the club from Rotterdam is even too modest. “Feyenoord is the top favorite for the title. But they are still too modest themselves. Not words but deeds, they say there for a reason”, he says with a smile.

“It remains to be seen whether we can start with them.”

Feyenoord will also be the favorite on Sunday when PSV comes to visit, but there was a boost for Van Nistelrooij in the run-up to the top match. After a long wait, he got his desired acquisitions. Patrick van Aanhoolt and Thorgan Hazard were presented on the last day of the transfer period. They are available on Sunday.

“They are fit and eager. But they are not yet fit enough for ninety minutes. It remains to be seen whether we can start with them. I am very happy with these acquisitions, they are good quality reinforcements with the right age.”
