Michael van Gerwen has reached the final at the World Series of Darts Finals. The 36-year-old Vlijmenaar dealt with 11-6 in the semi-final Ion Amsterdam with the Northern Irish Josh Rock. He seems to be the old one again after a difficult period.
Van Gerwen was previously close to switching off in the tournament. Against Rock, it went right up to 5-5 in Legs, although both darters won the leg that had started the opponent several times. After the second break, Van Gerwen won five legs in a row. On 10-6 he used his fourth matchdart.
Setbacks
The final spot has been a highlight for Van Gerwen for a long time. At the beginning of this year he lost the World Cup final and then performed for a long time below his level. In May his wedding with his wife Daphne stranded and it was recently announced that his father also has cancer.
In the final, ‘Mighty Mike’ will compete against the winner of the semi -final between the Englishman Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price from Wales. The final battle starts at half past nine.
