Van der Vaart friend Estavana Polman steps up against ex-club

Superstar Estavana Polman triggered a small handball earthquake with her lightning move from the Danish first division club Nykoebing Falster Handboldklub to the Romanian Champions League participant Rapid Bucharest. Now the girlfriend of the former HSV footballer Rafael van der Vaart stepped up against her former club.

After nine years together, the Danish handball first division team Esbjerg surprisingly parted ways with Estavana Polman almost a year ago.

Polman was so upset by the termination via e-mail that she then published a statement in which she expressed her deep disappointment with the club and those responsible.

Just one day later, the Dutch woman started a return carriage. At the game of her ex-club, Polman surprisingly appeared in the hall and took a seat in the stands with an acquaintance. Quite a few perceived the visit as a deliberate provocation.

After the end, Polman joined Nykobing Falster, but after a short time it was also over for the club from the Danish port city. A move to Romania followed. A step that the builder has not regretted.

“I had a fresh start and I’m really happy to be in Romania,” Polman said in an interview with TV2: “I live in the right place now, I feel calm in my body and I can just enjoy handball again .”

Polman just wanted to leave Denmark

Staying in Denmark was not an option for the world-class handball player. All she wanted to do in the summer was leave the kingdom.

“Because of everything that happened in Esbjerg,” she explained, adding: “Sometimes you just feel like you have to go, and that’s a good thing. I’m fine now and so is my family. Everything’s going well and so am I I’m happy again.”

However, Pollmann does not harbor a grudge against her former club. “It was fantastic. It was my second home. But at some point it had to be over and I had to try something new. And it was good for me,” emphasized the 30-year-old.
