Mathieu van der Poel ignores the World Cycling World Cup in Rwanda and is focusing on the World Mountain Bike World Cup this year. He announced this in the Spanish Pedreguer, where his team Alpecin-Deceuninck is currently at training camp. In the Italian stage race Tirreno-Adriatico, the Dutchman sees the ideal preparation for the big spring classics and will also ride the Tour de France later in the year.
