Shortly after the driver reached the breakdown strip, the flames already hit the engine room. When the fire brigade arrived, the vehicle was already completely on fire.
There were several water bottles in the cargo space, which made the situation extra dangerous. Due to the intense heat, fuel leaked away to the adjacent grass reservation, which therefore also caught fire. The fire brigade could quickly control both the vehicle and the roadside fire.
The delivery van could no longer be saved and burned out completely. Due to the incident, traffic towards the Kust was delayed for some time.
