The former Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has always been popular with the fans. He also apparently left an impression on the new racing team from Cadillac.
Everything speaks for a comeback as a regular driver: Valtteri Bottas is currently under contract as a replacement driver at Mercedes. For the racing team, he made his rounds in the premier class of motorsport as a regular pilot from 2017 to 2021. Now it looks like the Finn can be found again in the front row.
As the portals “Racingnews365” and “Formula.hu” report, Bottas is scheduled to sit for newcomers Cadillac in the coming year. Accordingly, the former Williams driver agreed with those responsible. The 35-year-old is apparently to be presented during the summer break in front of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in Zandvoort.
Bottas would be the first driver of the racing team. He already said at Sky at this year’s race in Hungary: “I want to be back on the grid. That is my goal.”
Sky expert Ralf Schumacher therefore said: “I think it’s good for such a new team to have at least an experienced driver like Valtteri Bottas. What you hear is clear. We are looking forward to number two.”
Because here it will be exciting from a German perspective: Mick Schumacher, son of racing driver legend Michael Schumacher, is also said to be in conversations with Cadillac team boss Graeme Lowdon. Mick Schumacher himself last said at Sky that he had “one or the other conversation”, but still “there is no news towards Formula 1”. Nevertheless, this is his goal.
