The Olympic Flame began its journey in Italy in view of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and on its second day it was also carried by Massimo Vallati. He was included by Coca Cola among its torchbearers for the values he represents. Vallati, who ran for EUR, is the founder of Calciosociale, a project born in 2005 in Rome to transform football into a tool for inclusion, legality and social cohesion. Vallati created the Campo dei Miracoli in Corviale, a multi-sports center where the rules reward solidarity and respect, in addition to goals. The initiative involves people of all ages and abilities, promoting empathy and active citizenship. Calciosociale is committed today to transforming football fields into gyms for life, educational spaces that go beyond the sporting aspect. Changing the rules of football to re-discuss the rules of the world, with the aim of bringing the model to all professional football schools, so that every pitch becomes a place in which to train young people capable of cooperating, including and generating a positive impact in the community.

EMOTION

Vallati did not hide his happiness for this experience: “It was an indescribable emotion to be one of the torchbearers for Milano Cortina 2026 by Coca-Cola, which believed in the Calciosociale project from the beginning. I ran for all the kids at the Campo dei Miracoli multi-sports center and for all the people who support our mission. We have recently inaugurated our curve, the Curva dei Miracoli, inside the Campo dei Miracoli multi-sports centre: the first Italy’s anti-mafia curve, designed as a symbol of ethics, positivity and joy. Made entirely of wood and inspired by the English style, it brings a fragment of England to the heart of Corviale. This new space does not just represent an expansion of the structure, but a real place of expression: a container in which our idea of a different football can grow and take shape. The Curva will make the pitch even more alive, welcoming and capable of hosting a greater number of people, so that the support for our kids is always transformed. more in a real community. Finally, our long-term goal is for Calciosociale’s mission to be adopted by all professional football schools. We want the 99% of young people who will not become professionals to continue to bring positive values both on and off the pitch, thus contributing to building a better society.”
