Born in Rosario on January 6 under an intense rain and without light, her arrival in the world seemed to mark a symbol: be a lighthouse for those who live in emotional gloom. Today, at 48, she is a psychologist, sexologist, teacher and writer in full production of her first book. But, above all, he is a professional committed to relieving the pain of the other.

“It is impossible to separate Valeria Farhat from Valeria Farhat professional,” he admits. And is that his vocation does not end in the office. His phone is always available, and his presence – even in silence – becomes relief for those who feel lost. “Say ‘I am’ has a huge healing value”he says.

Valeria trained in Buenos Aires and began her career focused on anxiety disorders. Over time, her search led her to specialize in Buddhist psychology, approach to duel and therapeutic accompaniment from the “here and now.” He continued his way with studies in sexology and sex education, areas in which he found a deep teaching vocation.

She is currently a professor at the National University of Rosario in a chair of sexuality for older adults. There he contributed to the writing of a book that was declared of general interest in the provincial legislature, where his chapter is dedicated to the prevention of physical and sexual violence in institutionalized persons.

“I am not an activist of any color, but I fight against impunity in cases of child sexual violence. It is urgent to end the prescription of causes at 10 years. The violated subject speaks when he can,” he says firmly.

In 2018 it was declared Honor of Honor of the Commune of Pavón above (Santa Fe)for their work in education and prevention in sexual health. To this are added two national and one international awards, awarded by the University of Medicine of San Diego, for their work in Bariatric psychologyan interdisciplinary area in which it accompanies patients before and after surgical interventions related to weight.

His training does not stop: he graduated as a magister in Psychoneuroimmunology of stress at Favaloro University, and is also a psychological and specialist in cognitive-behavioral psychology.

One of its most particular characteristics is its extraordinary memory: it does not take notes, it does not carry written records. He retains everything. “In my head, family, friends and ex of my patients live. I say: take care of my memory, there are you!” Comment with tenderness.

His therapeutic approach moves away from the traditional office. It proposes a space for decontracted and close dialogue, where respect, listening and genuine emotional accompaniment are fundamental. “They ask me for a turn to tell me pains they never said. How not to accompany that restoration?”

And closes with an invitation that summarizes his philosophy of life:

“I wish to know be an experience of mutual growth and health. Among all we can make a light place, where to hug and say ‘I love you’ stop being extraordinary to become natural.”
