Fenerbahçe Opet Women’s Volleyball Team defeated VakıfBank 3-0 in the first match of the CEV Champions League semi-finals.
Fenerbahce Opet, who started well in the Istanbul derby, where two Turkish teams met in Europe’s most prestigious club-level organization, took the lead 16-8 with the points of Fedorovtseva, Vargas and Ana Cristina. The yellow-dark blue team continued its effective performance against VakıfBank, which used its services poorly and failed to meet its opponent, and won the first set with a different score of 25-10.
Fenerbahce Opet, who had an effective fight in the second set of the match, took the lead 9-5. VakifBank, who did not quit the game, first drew 12-12 with the points of Gabi and Egonu, then turned the score in their favor (16-15). Fenerbahçe Opet, who left his mark on the game with his effective services, took the set 25-23 and took the lead by 2-0.
Fenerbahce Opet, who started the third set with a 4-0 series, continued to score with Ana Cristina and Vargas’ hard dunks and took the lead by 13-7. While VakıfBank, which recovered with ego’s numbers, tried to close the gap, Fenerbahçe Opet, who did not allow his opponent to make a turn, won this set 25-20 and won the match 3-0, in which he was superior from start to finish.
The second leg, hosted by Fenerbahçe Opet, will be held on Thursday, April 13 at the Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall.
