Usher and Alicia Keys freak out the crowd at halftime

What a party! Usher really heats up the fans during the Super Bowl halftime. Fans are particularly excited about his duet with another R&B great.

Since the 1990s, the American singer Usher has been storming the charts with his songs and has had a significant influence on the R&B and pop scene. Now the 45-year-old has caused excitement again – 30 years after his first album was released. During this year’s halftime of the NFL final between defending champions Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, he heated up the fans in the stadium and in front of the screens.

Among others, the musician HER and the rappers Ludacris and Lil Jon appeared on stage alongside Usher in the approximately quarter-hour show. Dozens of dancers and brass bands were also part of the spectacle.

Usher performed his biggest hits like “Yeah!” and “Caught Up” and “U Got It Bad.” The artist sang live and performed spectacular dance performances. He changed his outfits several times.

At one point, Usher even took off his shirt completely and performed bare-chested. Suddenly he rolled across the stage on roller skates, which sometimes resembled a clock and sometimes a fire. There was a party atmosphere in the stadium, there was dancing in the stands, and there was a lot of cheering and applause from the around 60,000 fans.

Duet between Alicia Keys and Usher delights fans

One moment in particular caused the audience to freak out: when singer Alicia Keys suddenly appeared on stage in a red, glittering suit to sing her song “If I Ain’t Got You” on a red piano.

The singer didn’t hit the first note of the ballad correctly. She quickly caught herself, Usher joined in and the two sang “My Boo” as a duet. They received a lot of enthusiasm for their appearance on social networks. Overall, Usher was convincing: Some fans wrote that the halftime show was better than the game itself.

The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the biggest shows of the year, and there is often long speculation about the musical stars of the respective finale. In recent years, Madonna, Beyoncé and Shakira, Coldplay and Lady Gaga, among others, have taken to the stage.

Huge reach for the stars

Last year, Rihanna delighted fans during the break. With Usher, the music style remained virtually unchanged compared to the previous year.

The stars don’t get paid to appear in the halftime show. The worldwide attention that comes with the show is enough for them. Rihanna also used her appearance last year to let the world know that she was pregnant. For Usher, however, everything remained professional this year.
