US: “We have evidence that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were deported by Russia” | Abroad

“We have evidence that the Russians have displaced hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, including children,” said Thomas-Greenfield.

“They are being interrogated, they are being held, they are forcibly expelled from the country. Some are sent to the farthest parts of eastern Russia near the North Korean border. And the Russians are doing this to suppress the resistance.”

According to Thomas-Greenfield, the size of the shipments is huge and widespread. She demands that the UN and human rights organizations be allowed access to the camps where the displaced Ukrainians are being held.

Moscow has consistently described Ukrainians arriving in Russia as refugees who have been taken in and looked after.
