US very concerned about condition of American prisoner in Russian prison camp

The United States is deeply concerned about Paul Whelan, an American detained in Russia. Moscow is refusing to provide information on the man’s whereabouts or condition, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said. Whelan’s family raised the alarm after not hearing from him for a week, but receiving reports that he had been transferred to the prison’s hospital bay.
