The White House asked federal agencies on Wednesday to submit plans for a “large -scale contraction of the workforce” by 13 March. The guideline came through a memo of the head of the Office of Budget and Management (OBM). It must be the first phase of an attempt by President Donald Trump’s government to drastically reduce the size of the US government.
