Rock in the park celebrates anniversary – with a moment of terror
The Musikfestival Rock im Park is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. With around 90,000 visitors and over 100 live acts by Sunday, the event is greater than ever. At the same time, the Rock am Ring sister festival takes place in the Eifel, which is looking back on 40 years of festival history this year. Both events share many of the bands performing – including Slipknot, bring me the Horizon and Måneskin.
Despite the dramatic incident, the mood at Rock im Park remains shaped by solidarity, community feeling and musical ecstasy. The incident shows how important quick help and civil courage are at major events – and how life -saving it can be.
