For assault and rape of five girls between 12 and 14 years old, a 43-year-old man from Emmer-Compascuum demanded a four-year prison sentence, one of which is conditional.

The mother of one of the girls went to the police in July last year. Her daughter would be touched in a German swimming pool a month earlier during the birthday party of her girlfriend, the daughter of the suspect. She would have felt on the slide and the man had kissed her.

She did not dare to tell this at home and took her teacher at school in confidence. She was afraid that her best friend would be placed out of the house. Moreover, not only she was touched at that party, this also happened to another girlfriend. A declaration also received.

The man strongly denies any accusation. It is true, he said, that his daughter and two girlfriends withdrew during the swimming pool party in the Pierenbadje. He found their reaction rather exaggerated and called this ‘nephuilen’. He had not approached them sexually, he said.

The man also denied the rape of another girlfriend of his daughter. That girl was not at the swimming party, because she couldn’t do it then. She reported at school that she was sometimes forced to sex by the suspect. This happened every time the man had sent his daughter to the store.

According to the public prosecutor, that comment did not completely fall out of the blue. An employee of Veilig Thuis already reported a year earlier that the girl had told about this. She was 12 and 13 years old when she would have been abused and then came to her girlfriend and her father more often.

A fourth report also arrived at the police. A mother reported that she had a short relationship with the suspect last year. During an argument with her daughter, the girl shouted that her mother’s new friend also kissed and touched her. The mother did not believe it at first, but that opinion turned after the other declarations.

In the meantime, a fifth mother reported to the police. Her daughter would touch his suspect during the Sinterklaas entry in 2023. Her 12-year-old daughter participated for the first time in the entry and was nervous. The suspect took care of her. He would not only have touched her, but also kissed her.

The child was so upset that the organization called on the man for a conversation about this. The police called this an unusual and a confrontational action for the girl. What the girl said he was afraid happened. She was called a liar during the conversation. She took the accusation back and said she was probably mistaken.

She had to apologize from the organization, otherwise she would no longer be allowed to participate in the entry. “In such a situation, a man is always 2-0 behind,” the suspect told the judge about this. And with that the stocking was finished for him. The other declarations, however, were the reason for the mother to still report it.

“They all had contact with each other and made a report,” the man said about this. According to the prosecutor, there is no question of a witch hunt or conspiracy against the suspect, as the man suspects. According to the public prosecutor, all declarations are reliable and supportive. Moreover, most of the complains do not know each other, he said.

According to him, the suspect was led by his sexual lusts and has abused his predominance of the young teenagers. In 2003 he received a (partly conditional) prison sentence in Zutphen and a community service for sexual abuse of a woman with disabilities in a taxi van.

At the time, the man was the driver of that van. In the past, more often reports have been made of sexual cross -border behavior of the suspect. Each time, according to the Public Prosecution Service, there was insufficient evidence to start a criminal prosecution.

The suspect has been investigated psychologically. The experts suspect a sexual disorder with the man, who means that there is a preference for girls who are just tackling. In addition, the researchers see narcissistic traits in the man. Because the man strongly denies, they cannot come to a judgment.

The prosecutor also demanded a location and contact ban with the declarants. His lawyer believes that there is not enough evidence for a conviction. The man has been in custody for eight months now. As far as she is concerned, he must be acquitted and return home quickly. The judge will rule on April 17.
