Until 2027: Sturm loan player Scherpen has extended his contract with home club Brighton

Until 2027

Kjell Scherpen will remain at Brighton & Hove Albion for the coming seasons. The 23-year-old Dutchman, who is currently on loan to SK Sturm Graz, extended his contract with the English team, which originally expired at the end of the season, until 2027. Scherpen moved to the island from Ajax Amsterdam in 2021. After he was unable to assert himself at the Premier League club, the goalkeeper was loaned out three times, most recently to the Styrians in July.

The national player played 27 competitive games for Graz this season, but is now out for the rest of the season after tearing his cruciate ligament. By extending the contract in Brighton, the loan contract in Graz could now be extended until 2025, which Sturm is also working on, according to managing director Andreas Schicker.
