About 70% of the women interviewed stated that they had suffered some form of verbal, physical or sexual harassment in the workplace. The 40% suffered it, instead in a family relationship or sentimental, and over 50% on the street.

A dramatic phenomenon that does not seem to end and which unfortunately continues to need to promote awareness initiatives. Between these the #UNROSSOALLAVIOLENZA campaign made by WeWorld together with Lega Serie A to say NO to violence against women even on all Serie A football fields.

The Serie A championship is tinged with red

And so, all the races of the next championship day will be colored red: the symbol of the campaign which, obviously, recalls the red card to give a strong signal of closeness to all the women victims e support them in fighting the fear they experience every day.

The players and the referees will go down to the field of play with a red mark on their faces and Captains of all teams will wear the symbol armband of the day. In each stadium, the ball podium and the overhead substitution board will be personalized with the initiative’s sticker.

How far still to go

“There violence against women is a structural problem of society, no longer just an emergency – says Marco Chiesara, President of WeWorld – And if it is true that so much awareness in recent years has led to an increase in awareness of the triggering causes, it is also true that there is still a lot to do. According to our investigation, 3 out of 10 men still identify the causes of violence against women, which they provoke and which they humiliate. The hope is that the #unrossoallaviolenza campaign can trigger a real cultural change, which we badly need».

Continue to keep attention on this dramatic phenomenonnot only in November, on the occasion of the World Day against Violence against Women, but every single day of the year is fundamental.

And that’s right to remind everyone that gender-based violence is fought on a daily basis and that we must all be at the forefront in defense of women victims of these despicable acts that the campaign #unrossoallaviolenza is also promoted outside the usual context.
