The first warm summer day was a fact on Friday: it reached 25 degrees. This also guarantees crowds in Scheveningen. The police had to take action. Last year the police were somewhat surprised when on May 1 they were confronted with fights and people who turned against the (regular) police. The Mobile Unit was then urgently called to act and keep the boulevard and surroundings safe. That is why there was quite a large police presence on Friday as a preventative measure.
