Unrest at Alstom: staff temporarily stops work

Yesterday the staff voted down the social agreement, they believe that there is too little effort from the employer for colleagues who are being made redundant. They would simply receive the statutory termination compensation, without any extras. Work was stopped for a while this morning, but the unions were eventually able to calm things down. Everyone is back to work, the unions are trying to come up with a better dismissal scheme, and the staff will vote again on Monday.
