Four nightclubs have recently started offering a so-called Night Pass. That is a subscription of 24.50 euros per month that allows Amsterdam residents unlimited access. More and more young people nowadays find clubbing too expensive. She has to get this subscription back into the club.
Moktar Nabil, owner of Garage Noord nightclub, is one of the initiators. “We see that everything is becoming more and more expensive, and that is why people are going out less,” he says.
Some people in their twenties on the street also recognize this. “It’s very expensive, so that’s why I don’t go out anymore.” Another only does it in the summer.
Clubs Nachbar, Skatecafe, and Radio Radio also participate in the Night Pass. It does appeal to some. “I can spare that amount, yes,” says a man. “What I say, it doesn’t cost a knot.”
Tourists
“We are all really willing to make some concessions and understand that you charge a little less for your ticketing,” says club owner Nabil. “But those tourists, they can simply pay.”
The first 150 Night Passes sold out immediately after launch. The four nightclubs that participate will see how this goes in the near future. There is already a queue where you can register for a possible next edition.
