The festival in Den Helder has grown considerably since 1995. This year around 1600 artists are participating in twenty different stages, spread throughout the city. It is the chance for amateurs to show themselves to the public.
Sikina Pinchetti is in the organization, but has often performed enough. “It is the love of music that has been around for 30 years now. We have always had a lot of live music in Den Helder. In Volendam they have many artists, but you have to come here. How much talent can be found here is really unprecedented. You can enjoy bands or choirs all year round and so on. The level is really good.”
Surprises on every corner
The audience is presented with everything today. From singer-songwriters to complete bands and choirs. As a twenty -year -old, Kim Brink has been connected to the event for a few years. “It is also the cosiness in the city. People stand to listen, or iron down on the terrace and in the meantime you are surprised by the artists. It always attracts a lot of young people, really crazy.”
