Striker Mikkel Kaufmann (22/last Karlsruhe) has completed his first week of training with the Irons.

The conclusion of the newcomer: “The training intensity is much, much higher. My legs are tired but that is preparation.”

Last season, Kaufmann was loaned to second division club KSC and scored ten times there. Previously at HSV, he was rarely able to convince. In 32 competitive games, it was only enough for two goals in the second division.

Union has transferred 2.7 million euros to FC Copenhagen, for Kaufmann the move to the Bundesliga and to Köpenick is a real challenge. Or as the Dane says: “That’s not one step higher, that’s two steps.”

Saturday morning there were a lot of shots on the training plan. A fact that made Kaufmann happy: “I got a lot of chances to shoot at goal.” Union’s new number 9 also wants to get it when the league starts.
