The 22-year-old Rikkie Kolle from Den Helder was elected Miss Netherlands 2023 last night. According to the jury, she has a “strong story with a clear mission”. Kolle is the first transgender woman to win the award.
In a theater in Leusden it became clear that the woman from Den Helder can call herself the big winner. The jury praises the progress she has made throughout the process.
“When I was still little Rik and came out as transgender, it was not easy for everyone and I also suffered from it,” she says on the Miss’s site The Netherlands.
By winning this title, she will also represent the Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant.
