Union Berlin: Gosens change allegedly burst

According to an Italian media report, a possible change from national soccer player Robin Gosens from Inter Milan to 1. FC Union Berlin is a long way off.

The Bundesliga club’s interest in the 28-year-old full-back had expired because no agreement had been reached on a loan deal with a possible subsequent purchase obligation, the “Gazzetta dello Sport” reported.

VfL Wolfsburg should continue to be in the running for this, the sports newspaper said. The interest of the Lower Saxony has existed for a long time.

Contacts are now said to have resumed. Wolfsburg is currently looking for a left-back and has long been associated with Gosens.

However, no offer has yet been submitted to Inter. A transfer fee of 15 to 20 million euros, as traded in the Italian media, is too much for VfL.

As the “kicker” reported last week, Union was very interested in Gosens. The talks are said to have already reached an advanced stage. Born in the Rhineland, he is under contract with the Champions League finalists until the end of June 2026.

Wolfsburg also before Tomás obligation

The move from offensive player Tiago Tomás to VfL Wolfsburg is apparently close to completion. As the Portuguese trade newspaper “A Bola” writes, the transfer of the 21-year-old from Sporting Lisbon to the Bundesliga club is to be announced on Thursday.

Accordingly, VfL paid a transfer fee of EUR 8.8 million plus EUR 1.5 million in bonus payments for Tomás. In addition, Sporting has secured a ten percent stake in a possible sale of Tomás in the future.

The attacker had been loaned to VfB Stuttgart since January 2022. Last season he had three goals and four assists for the Swabians. After being secured late in the class, VfB did not want to exercise the purchase option for 15 million euros.
