Defense center reinforcement
VfL Bochum’s search for further reinforcements for the center of defense is apparently coming to an end. According to information from “Deep in the West – The VfL Magazine“The district club is working on a commitment from Dominique Heintz. Negotiations with 1. FC Union Berlin are said to be nearing completion.

The 28-year-old only switched from SC Freiburg to the “Eisernen” last winter, with whom he is still under contract until 2024. Heintz has played nine games for Union, which currently has eight regular central defenders in its squad. In the DFB Cup against Chemnitzer FC (2:1 aet) he was still in the starting XI, but he only had one place in the stands in the Bundesliga opener in the city derby against Hertha BSC (3:1).

At VfL, the competition would be much smaller for Heintz. After the departures of Armel Bella-Kotchap (20; Southampton) and Maxim Leitsch (24; Mainz 05), Bochum only presented a new man for the center of defense in Ivan Ordets (30; Dinamo Moscow). With Erhan Masovic (23) and Vasilios Lampropoulos (32), coach Thomas Reis has two more established options, plus the talents Tim Oermann (18) and Mohammed Tolba (18).
