FC Den Bosch has qualified for the semi-final of the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie. The team of coach Ulrich Landvreugd hardly reached attacks in the match with SC Cambuur, but a hit by Sheddy Barglan in the extension was enough for a draw (1-1).
FC Den Bosch had won the home game with Cambuur 1-0. Telstar or ADO The Hague becomes the opponent of the Bosschenaren in the semi-final of the play-offs on 20 and 23 May.
Urgency
About seven hundred Den Bosch supporters made the journey from the Brabant capital to Leeuwarden, a ride of more than two hundred kilometers. They craved the first promotion since 2004, but with their team the urgency was less visible.
Cambuur was much stronger than Den Bosch. But Mark Diemers shot on the pole and bar. The leader of the home team also made the opening goal in the 61st minute.
Especially defend
Den Bosch was hardly dangerous and mainly limited to defending. Led by the outstanding goalkeeper Pepijn van de Merbel, the visitors still fought for an extension.
Cambuur remained the most dangerous team, but the visitors use their first real chance of the game. Barglan scored, on a pass from Byron Burgering.
The final is on 29 May and 1 June.
