2022 was the warmest year ever measured in several European countries, including Belgium, according to a report by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and that is no exception. The report also states that the European continent is warming twice as fast as the global average. Last year Europe was about 2.3 degrees warmer than it was in the pre-industrial period (1850 to 1900).
