In the match to defend the World Boxing Council (WBC) Heavyweight Asian Belt, Umut Çamkıran knocked out his Croatian opponent Abel Pesut, who had his only defeat in 18 matches. RMO Boxing night was held in a hotel in Istanbul. Umut Camkıran, who played his 25th match in the organization, managed to defeat his opponent in the title defense match.
Knockout That Could Bring A FAIR PLAY AWARD
Umut Camkıran, who put his opponent in a groggy position with a hard blow in the 3rd round of the match, did not make a new blow to his opponent whose eyes were darkened, although he did not fall to the ground. Camkıran asked the referee to count, but since the opponent did not fall to the ground, the referee did not count as per the rules. Although Abel Pesut, who had recovered at that time, wanted to continue for a while longer, he received another hard blow from Umut. Although Pesut saved itself from collapse at the last moment, it began to spin around its own axis. Meanwhile, Umut asked his opponent’s corner to stop the match. Since Pesut was not in a position to respond, the referee ended the match with TKO. With this knockout, Umut Camkıran reached 25 wins in 25 matches. Having achieved his 23rd knockout, Camkıran made his opponent taste his 2nd defeat. Camkıran’s goal is to be in the top 15 in the world rankings.
GUEST OF HONOR WAS IBF LIGHTWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION ELIF NUR TURHAN
The guest of honor of the organization was world champion Elif Nur Turhan. Turhan, who came to Istanbul after becoming the champion in IBF and took part in the night, watched the match between Umut Camkıran and Abel Pesut. While thanking everyone for their support, Turhan said, “I became the champion by knocking out my opponents, who saw me as child’s play, one by one.”
