Ukrainian security service arrests ‘traitors’: “I changed my mind” | Abroad

Viktor is a middle-aged Ukrainian. The Ukrainian Secret Service (SBU) tracked him down through social media, where Viktor sided with Putin. “Yes, I was very supportive of the Russian invasion. Sorry. I’ve changed my mind now,” says Viktor with a trembling voice. The SBU took him because he violated anti-collaboration laws. They came into effect soon after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Viktor faces up to 15 years in prison. Anyone who collaborates with the Russians and thereby kills could be sentenced to life imprisonment.

“Being accountable for collaboration is inevitable. Whether that will happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow is another question,” Ukrainian President Zelensky said. “The most important thing is that justice will inevitably be served.”
