Ukraine prepares a law for the rotation of soldiers at the front

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, He stated this Sunday that the Kiev Government will soon present a bill to Parliament so that soldiers on the front can rotate and rest, and he excluded demobilizing troops while the war with Russia lasts.

“We will only be able to use the word demobilization once the war is over,” He assured in an interview with public television that progress was made yesterday and that this Sunday it was published in its entirety.

However, the Executive has “found solutions” that will allow those soldiers who have been fighting for two years to better understand what possibilities they have to be able to rest or be partially released from their service, Umerov indicated.

“We are working on it at a legal, legislative and technical level,” He stated and added that the reform package will be presented “in the coming days” before the Verkhovna Rada or Parliament.

The draft will also respond to society, he assured, to the issues raised by the Army’s request to mobilize 450,000 additional troops.

“We have 3,500 kilometers of lines that must be defended. There are stabilization operations, there are defensive operations, there is a counteroffensive“said Umerov.

At the same time he recognized that in response to the demand of the Armed Forces “the Council of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada They ask what will happen to those who are already serving in the Army and what the people we want to mobilize will do.

Among the measures being studied is reducing the cut-off age for mobilization from 27 to 25 years oldas confirmed by Umerov.
