The fright is a lot of the residents of an apartment complex on the Ransuil in Uithoorn. At the end of last month there was twice explosive at the main entrance of the building. Nobody was injured, but the damage is strong and the recovery will take a while.

The mailboxes are still intact, but most windows were killed. The first explosion causes a lot of damage in the night of Tuesday 23 June to 24 June around 5 a.m.

At the second bang, in the night of Friday, June 25 to Saturday, June 26, at 4.00 am, there is no damage, but the explosion puts the porch full of smoke. Residents therefore think that a fire has arisen.

That is not the case, but in no time the emergency services are coming. The fire brigade air the porch, the police collect fireworks residues. Mayor Heiliegers comes by later that day to support the residents.

“I asked the mayor if a camera could be hung,” says a resident who wants to remain anonymous. “And in the evening it hung there.” She has not received anything from the explosions themselves, but she thinks it is a pleasant feeling that action has been taken.

Earlier the municipality reported about camera surveillance on its website, yesterday there was also a letter with an explanation on the mat. In addition to supporting enforcement, ‘there is also preventive effect from the placement’, the mayor emphasizes the letter.

In the coming period, the police will show themselves more often in the neighborhood in the evening and at night. Mayor Heiliegers alludes to the extension of the camera surveillance, but with which period is unknown.

False

Resident Margot has heard the blows. “Sorry I didn’t open immediately,” she apologizes. “The camera still does it, but we can no longer see who is at the door,” she refers to the hardboard that is temporarily attached to the frames. “We are a bit wary.”

She wakes up from the first blow, but stays lying down and falls asleep again. “I thought: it will be thunderstorms, or fireworks. When I woke up, I heard what had happened. At the second we were all next to our bed. Then I looked through the hole and the vision became increasingly fierce. We went to look, because if there is a fire you have to take action.”

None of the residents with whom NH spoke has a suspicion of whom those explosions may have been intended.

The police confirm that there have been two explosions at the building. “We have sent an administrative report to the municipality. Measures have indeed been taken based on that.”

No suspect (s) have yet been arrested, the spokesperson says. “The research is now focusing on the question of who this was directed. It was not aimed at one home, then you can quickly explain something.”

Repair

A spokesperson for the Eigen Haard housing association says that preparations are being made to repair the damage. “Because that has to be made to measure, it will certainly take two months before that is repaired.”
