Teenagers sentenced to long prison terms

They shot a 16-year-old and also wanted to murder a footballer. Now two teenagers in Sweden have been punished for their offenses.

A shocking case caused a sensation in Sweden: two young people were sentenced to long -term prison terms, among other things, for the planned murder of a football professional. A court in Stockholm saw it as proven that the two teenagers shot a 16-year-old in the Swedish capital in the summer of 2024 and also targeted a player from the first division club Degerfors IF.

A 15-year-old was sentenced by the Stockholm district court for preparing for the murder of the footballer, aid for murder and aid for attempted murder for two years and three months. In addition, he must pay the player compensation of 100,000 crowns (around 9,300 euros).

The second perpetrator, a 17-year-old, received a prison sentence of eight years and eleven months. He was condemned, among other things, for murder, attempted murder, preparation for murder, abuse and a severe weapon offense. He was also obliged to pay 100,000 crowns to the player.

The footballer himself was also prosecuted in the process – because of a physical attack on one of the young people. After an argument, he had slapped the teenager. For this he was sentenced to a fine of 2,800 crowns (around 260 euros).

DegerFors IF reacted to the events with a statement. The club therefore distances itself from crime and violence. The matter was processed internally, the player received the club’s support.

The player asked his lawyer in court whether he wore his life. His answer according to “photo bollards”: “Yes, one hundred percent.”
