Two new openings in November: Primark pushes ahead with US expansion

The Irish textile discounter Primark is continuing to expand its presence in the USA. On Tuesday, the retailer, which is part of the conglomerate Associated British Foods Plc (ABF), announced that it would open two more stores in the United States this year.

Primark chose the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, New York, and the Concord Mills shopping center in Charlotte, North Carolina, as locations. Both stores will have more than 2,700 square meters of retail space and will open in November, the company said.

With the two new openings, the retail chain is completing its global expansion measures for the current year. This brings the number of branches in the USA to a total of 24. The current growth strategy currently calls for opening at least 60 stores in the country by 2026. Primark explained that “expansion in the south of the USA” is now planned for the coming year. The company will have 436 locations worldwide, including the two new US stores, by the end of the year.
