Nearly two million Americans in the southern United States are without power after the passage of Hurricane Ian. The hurricane made landfall in South Carolina on Friday afternoon local time and then quickly weakened into a storm. Earlier in the week, Ian left a trail of destruction through Florida, where the death toll has risen to at least 45 according to news channel ‘CNN’. The channel is based on figures from local governments. Federal authorities have confirmed 23 deaths.
