Two men pulled from car on A50 by police with gun drawn

The police arrested two men on Wednesday afternoon near the Paalgraven junction on the A50. That happened with a drawn firearm, the police said in a message on X, formerly Twitter.

No shots were fired during the arrest and no one was injured, police said. The reason was a report of a threat with a firearm in Oss. No one was injured here either. The victim led the police to the suspects. They were able to stop and arrest the two suspects on the A50.

At the time of the arrest, there was a long traffic jam at the interchange. There was an accident after which the left lane was closed. Several cars had to be salvaged. There was a spectator traffic jam in the other direction of travel. The delay was up to an hour, according to Rijkswaterstaat. The road was fully reopened around 6:30 a.m.

Nevertheless, the traffic disruption will continue for a while, because after the arrest, the police are investigating at the Paalgraven junction. The driveway in the direction of Eindhoven is temporarily partially closed for this purpose. The threat in Oss is also included in the investigation.
