Two new suspects were arrested yesterday in the investigation into the artok in the Drents Museum. One is the man on the images from a hardware store in Assen.

The suspects are a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both from Heerhugowaard. They will both be heard about their role in the art.

Immediately after the arrests, a home in Heerhugowaard was searched. Earlier on day, the police already did that in a house in Opmeer and a business premises in Heerhugowaard.

When searching the buildings, the stolen golden helmet and gold bracelets were not found. However, the police have seized so -called digital data carriers, which will be further investigated.

It was not the first time that the police are searching buildings in the vicinity of Heerhugowaard in connection with the art. At the end of last month, research was done in a house and business premises in the same city. A number of the suspects who are currently detained come from Heerhugowaard.

Five suspects have already been arrested. It concerns three men aged 26, 34 and 36 and a 40-year-old woman, all from Heerhugowaard. The woman was released a month ago, but remains the suspect in the case. Later a man of 36 from Alkmaar was arrested.

The first public session will be held in the case of the detained suspects on 9 May. Then the court decides on the extension of the pre -trial detention and the Public Prosecution Service gives a state of affairs of the investigation.
