In Emmen, two fires broke out in two different flats in about half an hour tonight. First there was a fire on the seventh floor of a flat in the Nijkampenweg, a little later there was a kitchen fire on the fourth floor of a flat in the Wendeling.
In the fire in the Nijkampenweg, a person was treated in an ambulance because it had inhaled smoke. However, he did not have to go to the hospital. The fire service quickly brought the fire under control.
The fire in the Wendeling caused ‘significant damage’ to the apartment, but no one was injured. A number of apartments were evacuated in both apartment buildings.
