Two extra hours of math instead of religion? Weyts believes that schools should be able to choose for themselves how they interpret their philosophy of life

If it depends on Flemish Minister of Education Ben Weyts (N-VA), schools in official education should in future be able to choose for themselves how they fill in the two hours of philosophical subjects. For example, in the interest of educational quality, they could choose to replace those hours with hours of Dutch or mathematics. But the Constitution would have to be changed. For example, Minister Weyts answered a question from Open VLD member of parliament Jean-Jacques De Gucht in the Flemish Parliament on Wednesday.
